Alumni software acts as a solution for various Institutions who seek out opportunity to advance the institution by encouraging alumni to support its efforts financially and to act as advocates for their alma mater. Participation in an alumni network has obvious benefits for professional and educational networking.
An additional benefit would be derived from increasing the measurement of member networking. This would enable alumni associations to watch and learn as their members use networking sites to their own benefit. Doing this, especially via business networking sites, would help them determine how to help alumni solve real problems in their careers and professional development. Such an effort would also benefit from alumni associations reaching out to the leaders of other membership-type organizations that are using the same tools for their own affinity-building efforts. Prominent among these groups are corporate alumni associations.
