Dumbbells: Can it Give You a Good Workout?

The power of one pair of dumbbells is always underestimated. They can not only give you a good workout but also a tough one. Though they may not be as effective as barbells but still they are quite challenging to do. The power of dumbbells can only be harnessed through a well balanced workout.

Here are few of best dumbbell exercises for every body parts.

a> Dumbbell squat Legb> Front dumbbell squat- Leg c> Dumbbell deadlift - Leg d> Dumbbell Chest Press Pectoral e> Alternative chest press- Pectoral f> Shoulder press - Deltoids g> Alternatives shoulder press - Deltoids h> Bicep curls - Biceps i> Hammer curls Biceps j> Lying Dumbbell Triceps press -Triceps k> One Hand Dumbbell French press Triceps

You can form a good body workout by working out two body parts in alternative days. For example in

Monday Leg and Chest Wednesday Biceps and Triceps Friday Shoulders and Cardio

Select two exercises for each body parts from the above exercise list . Dont waste time in setting up your reps and sets.

For beginner 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps is advisable. The main point is weight must be low.In this stage you must focus on perfecting your technique. Do it for 3 weeks and give a week rest before going to intermediate level.

For intermediates 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps is advisable. Try to increase your weight step by step. Keep a record of how much you are increasing weights per day. This will help you to focus on your progress. Do it for three weeks and a week rest for going to the advanced level.

For advance 5 sets of 5 reps is advisable. This is the period when you must go for the kill. Try to go to your maximum in this stage. Try to do it for four weeks with a week rest in between. By that I mean do it for two weeks take one week rest and again do this for two weeks.

This will help your body to get ripped and increase your metabolic speed. After you have completed a cycle then its time to move to barbells.
