There has been a great deal of hype about the Android OS, operating system, since the purchase of Android inc. by Google in 2005. The operating system was derived from a source called Linux Kernel, an open source programming language that has since become open source.
The Android OS is a mobile phone software system that has gone through several periodic upgrades since its inception. Beginning in April of 2009 with the release of the 1.5 version dubbed "cupcake" the operating system has grown considerably in capacity.

The current version of the software allows people to not only use individual apps that are not capable of being used with any other operating system but in fact allow the user to create applications of their own.
