Computer Forensics - Business

Dell Computer forensics is starting to be one of the number one professions in law enforcement investigation. Just like the specialist that retrieves the DNA sample and proves whether some ones DNA was present at the scene of a crime, the computer forensics specialist can prove that the criminal master minded the plan far enough in advance for them to be charged with pre-meditated murder, rather than manslaughter.

By gaining access to a computer of a suspect, the law enforcement agency can allow a person with a degree in computer science to take the computer and perform a virtual autopsy on it. This means they will take the compute apart file by file, until they find the proof they need to either substantiate their suspicions, or to prove a suspect innocent.

These specialists have the skills necessary to find any file that is on the hard drive, or located anywhere else on the computer. Storing information on internet media storage sites will not prevent them from locating and retrieving the information. Password protection means little to these people, because hacking is their specialty.

If the criminal thinks they are safe because they erased certain data, they may want to rethink that idea. Often criminals think they have cleared their computer of files that contained certain information, but there are ways to retrieve that information. All you need is the patience, the time, and the knowledge of where to look for the data trail.

Once the Dell computer forensics specialist has found the data that will prove what is suspected they will retrieve and document this information. All information must be preserved in a court approved manner in order for it to be admissible as evidence against a person.

The specialist that actually found the evidence will be frequently called to testify in court as to how they found the information, and in their expert opinion, what they think the information they gathered says about the suspect and their involvement in the crime with which they are charged.

This field of work requires a person to do well when they are working alone. They need to be able to focus on the job at hand, and to push their abilities so that they achieve their goals. At times the job can be tedious, rather like looking for a needle in a haystack, in the dark. But, when the specialist hits on the information they have been seeking it is exhilarating to them.
