Workout Fat Burn: 3 Ways To Skyrocket Your Post Workout Fat Burn - Health - Weight Loss

Well here are 3 tips to maximise your post workout fat burn.

POST WORKOUT FAT BURN TIP #1

Don't eat for at least 3-4 hours before your workout. You may have heard this before, but training while on an empty stomach, while your glycogen stores are depleted helps maximise your workout fat burn.

This also helps raise your growth hormone levels. You see growth hormone and insulin counteract each other. If one is high, the other is low...like a see-saw.

So if you eat something, especially carbohydrates before a workout you will be spiking your insulin levels, meaning your growth hormone levels will be low.

Now this is good for energy and performance, but if you are training to burn fat, then you want to train when growth hormone levels are high. And the best way to raise it naturally is to not eat before a workout.

POST WORKOUT FAT BURN TIP #2

Train intensely! The harder you train, the more growth hormone you produce and the more you raise your metabolic rate.

You see after an intense workout your body continues to secrete growth hormone, and your metabolism stays elevated for up to 48 hours afterwards.

This is important because it isn't how many calories you burn in a workout, it's how many you burn after that counts. You see, exercise only account for about 10-20% of the total amount of calories you burn a day. The rest is done through your day to day activities.

So the best way to increase that is to train intensely so that your metabolism is elevated during these periods of incidental exercise.

POST WORKOUT FAT BURN TIP #3

To ensure you are doing everything to maximise your workout fat burn, you should hold off eating anything until 1-2 hours after your workout.

This is because by now your glycogen stores are depleted, your growth hormone levels are high and your metabolism is jacked. So exposing your body to these conditions for an extra hour or 2 without food will help dig into fat stores and burn much more fat.

Not only that but eating after a workout will create an insulin spike, causing your growth hormone levels to plummet.

Now saying that, none of this will work if you eat too much. You cannot out exercise a bad diet.

So yes dieting is essential.

But it doesn't have to be as bad as it sounds.
