Goal setting exercise. Write down your list of 10 intimate goals and as we go through these next steps, you can adapt your goals into SMART GOALS.Be Explicit: This tunes our efforts and defines what we are doing. Use words in the present tense as if the goal has already been achieved. Pin down why the goal is important to you. Define your desire. How are you going to reach this goal. Discover your why.
Be Measurable: If you can not measure your goal how will you know when you have reached it. When you have earned that $15K a month you can measure the goal, If you just have more money you will not be able to measure your success Tony Robbins said "People are not lazy. They simply have feeble goals - that is, goals that do not inspire them."
Be attainable: Once you have figured out the goals that are the most important you have to identify which ones are obtainable, and you have to figure out how you are going to make them come true. To do so you will cultivate the skill set needed to make them come true. With this new found skill set you find your goals more readily within reach. Goals set to high are probably not going to be procurable Immediately. Simply because you may become disheartened by and will not commit yourself to attaining them. Good intentions will not let you attain a goal which your inner self knows is unattainable. You need to set a goal that is achievable by not too easy. Too easy does not give you the sense of success. For illustration running a marathon may be a goal which not within reach right now, but start off with a 5K you can do it. A marathon will come later because you will have developed the skill set on the secondary goals and will be encouraged when they are achieved. Success wil l keep you willing
Be Realistic: Realistic does not mean easy. Realistic means the goal is something that is obtainable. Being realistic will allow you to push yourself to get to the goal, and along the way you cultivate the skills you need. The goal will not conquer you. Making a plan to attain your goal will help guide you on your way. It should reflect the start and finishing points as well as milestones along the way. I like the to think of the milestones as mini-goals. When you reach the mini goal give yourselves the credit you deserve and realize your final goal is one step closer.
Be Timely: Set your goals with a time limit. This is the true way they can be measured. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly. The span of time is not as essential as the statement you make when you put an end date to you goal. This end date actually makes it simpler to reach your goal because you are committing oneself. When there is no time limit, you loose any importance to start taking action. Remember that Time must be measurable, attainable and realistic.Setting smart goals in your enterprise and your personal life can make you manage your objective more effectively and you profit from doing so.
