Finding The Best Kindle 3 Case For You - Technology - Gadgets and Gizmos

Picking up a case for your Kindle 3 is a smart decision that doesn't have to cost a fortune. Not only can a cover protect your reading companion, but it can even improve your reading experience by making your Kindle 3 easier to hold, more lighting, etc. Since there are hundreds of cases out there I'd like to focus on a few specific styles of Kindle 3 Cases instead of covering an exact case.

The first style of Kindle 3 case this article will cover are leather cases. It is true there are a number of run of the mill ones out there(usually black or brown and have a folding cover). But there are also just as many unique ones, each with their own features and design. There are plenty pf color and pattern combination including leather covers which resemble book covers. In many cases additional functionality doesn't have to cost much more. Many leather case stands, which make reading easier, cost about the same as a standard leather case.

Another option if you like the look and feel of a leather cover is a lighted leather cover. This style of leather cover has a built in reading light. Most commonly the cover uses one or more LED lights and the light is usually adjustable. As far as the power source is concerned a lighted cover will either operate off of the Kindle DX or from a small battery. Because of the popularity of lighted leather cases, Amazon even released their own lighted Kindle 3 case which comes in a variety of colors.

The next Kindle 3 case type are soft (usually rubberized) cases. This style of case is available both in super thin and thick super protective versions. Which style of soft case to go with will depend entirely on how much use (or abuse) you but your Kindle 3 through. Putting on one of these cases is easy. Most will be able to be stretched to fit around your ereader with little trouble. Just line up the corners and put it on.

Soft cases which are thin will protect your ereader which still keeping the look and feel of the device which is one thing that many cases do not do. These cases are usually made from a rubber-like material such as silicone and are sometime referred to as skins (not to be confused with vinyl skins).

Finding the right case will take a little research but it is worth it to find a case you are truly happy with. I hope this article has helped you become more aware of just how many covers are available.
